Akron Polymer Technology Services (APTS) APTS Testing Division is a contract services facility operated by The University of Akron’s College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering. They have been serving the industrial community, especially rubber and plastics, for over 50 years. With a full-time professional staff, and a half-million-dollar inventory of modern instrumentation, the Division is dedicated to performing sophisticatedandtimelycontractual technical servicesfor industrial and government clients. In addition to dedicated resources maintainedby theDivision, the laboratoryhas access tohighly sophisticated instrumentation through the College of Polymer Science andPolymer Engineering andwill interfacewith a staff of over 30 highly specialized faculty to solvemore complex polymer relatedproblems. The APTS Processing Division provides polymercompounding, blending, processing andphysical testing servicestocommercial,educational and governmentclients. Projectsaretypicallysmall scale(<100lbs. polymer) trials that serve as test of concept for our clients. Projects arecarriedout usingequipment housed in theOlsonResearch Center and theNational Polymer InnovationCenter. The APTS Training Division strives to be the world’s leading provider of effective workforce development through hands-on training courses with pilot and industrial scale equipment located onsite at 18,500 square foot state-of-the-art teaching facility on the campus of TheUniversity of Akron. Qualified instructors are available to service training needs.

Akron Rubber Development Laboratory (ARDL) has established itself as a leading international independent laboratory dedicated to providing testing, development and problem solving services to all facets of the rubber and plastic industries. ARDL has the experience, expertise & resources to be a single-
source lab, not only for standardized testing & analysis, but for custom non-routine services as well. ARDL has demonstrated over many years, the complete in-house capability, equipment and expertise in compound development, mixing, curing and testing rubber compounds for industrial and military applications to meet the needs of multiple industries and applications. Services include: Chemical Testing; Mechanical/Physical Testing; Engineering/Dynamic Testing; Microscopy; Forensic Services; and Plastics Testing. ARDL volunteers in several ASTM International committees including D11 (Rubber and Rubber Like Materials.
