Task 3.3 Technical Assistance: FM Approvals audited and certified the Sumo No-Hub Couplings to minimize the product’s exposure to risk. FM Approvals produced a comparable set of engineering drawings for each of the coupling sizes. FM Approvals also witnessed at Mission Rubber’s facility its quality control procedures while the product was being manufactured. FM’s process is to ensure a unique aspect of property loss prevention and to verify that the products will perform whenever they are called upon to do so. Task 3.3 Material Testing: Testing services were performed by CRT Laboratories and Intertek (York, Pennsylvania). Intertek performed the Salt Fog/Spray test that provides an accelerated corrosive environment to evaluate the relative corrosion resistance of the coating and substrate or part itself for the 3”, 4” and 8” products .
