testing and coordinating field testing in the City of Chico and the City of Orland . BASF’s role was to address coloring of the sidewalk material. Disability Access Consultants (DAC) provided a full continuum of accessibility compliance services and software to support SafePath Product meets local state and federal laws and accessibility regulations such as the ADA Standards and the California Building Code. DAC identified and mapped the field conditions and geographical information and analysis of field data regarding the sidewalk and deviation from compliant accessibility standards. Reports included vertical deviations, cross slope and running slope conditions. Shatec Engineering was tasked to assist in identifying the appropriate tests for the sidewalks and the selection of Twining Laboratories that perform Department of Transportation Test Methods CT551. Task 3.4 Material Testing : Twining Laboratories performed 10 tests including compressive strength, bond strength, water absorption, flexural and thermal. Intertek (Fresno) performed Solar Reflectance Index tests. Testing Services, Inc. performed tests to include static load, frictional properties, durometer hardness, abrasion resistance, water permeability, and more .

FCS Project 5 - Sierra Mat & Rubber Company
DK Enterprises worked with Sierra Mat & Rubber and its technical and testing service providers. FCS approved the development of two tire-derived product applications: Sierra Safe Surface (a replacement of EPDM) and Sierra Porous Pave. Sierra Safe Surface was designed as the top wear layer of pour-in-place surfaces, replacing between 90 – 95 percent of the EPDM rubber typically used. The product uses 7 mesh to 1/4” material, depending on the customer’s need , which will comprise 90-95 percent of the total product weight, or 2,000 – 2,500 pounds per 1,000 sq. feet. Sierra Porous Pave is a water permeable resilient surface designed to replace concrete, black top and concrete pavers in multiple end use applications. This product will use 7 mesh to 3/8” material (TBD), which will comprise 65 percent of the total product weight, or 2,500 pounds per 1,000 sq. ft. The total product weight is 4,000 pounds per sq. ft.
