 Miramar Asphalt Runway Replacement 24L, San Diego, CA: Project Engineer for preconstruction laboratory and field mix design studies of portland cement concrete pavement, aggregate evaluation, etc.  Naval Air Weapons Station, Repair Airfield Pavements at Runway 03/21 Phase II, China Lake, CA: Project Engineer for preconstruction laboratory and field mix design studies of portland cement concrete pavement, aggregate evaluation, etc. Concrete Mix Design, Evaluation, and Testing  Specializing in durability assessment and service life modeling of concrete , concrete proportioning and construction practice, allowing for the mitigation of risks of cracking and the corrosion of reinforcing steel in concrete.  Design, review, and preconstruction evaluation of structural concrete and pavement mixes . Providing engineering oversight for laboratory trial batch of concrete, designing concrete for strength requirements (compressive strength, flexural strength, splitting tensile strength, modulus of elasticity); requirements of coefficient of thermal expansion, durability requirements (rapid chloride permeability, alkali-silica reactivity etc.) and shrinkage and crack resistance of concrete (drying shrinkage, restrained expansion).  Technical support for various condition evaluation projects using destructive and non-destructive techniques on in-place concrete to determine cause of damage, serviceability, and repair options. Wilshire Grand Hotel, Los Angeles, CA : Overseen thermal control and maturity monitoring of wall sections. Analyzed statistically the variation of strength, air content, slump, and unit weight over different construction periods and provided construction recommendations.  Long Beach Pump Station, Long Beach, CA : Overseen thermal control of inverts and wall sections.  San Diego Courthouse, San Diego, CA : Overseen thermal control of mass foundations. Researched and developed methods for the prediction of later age compressive strength based on existin g stre ngth data. Participated in the design of testing strategy for validation of such prediction method. Reviewed various mix designs for constructions.  Sharp Medical Center, Chula Vista, CA : Developed performance based temperature differential limit for mat foundation placement, which contributes to enhanced constructability and accelerated construction schedule. Mass Concrete Project Experience 
